Equipment

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil or butter. Once hot, add the sliced smoked sausage and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and crispy. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the large shrimp in a single layer, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper. Sear the shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside with the sausage.
  3. Add chopped onions and a mix of green, red, and yellow bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables become tender and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the chopped green cabbage along with garlic powder, onion powder, Chef Patricia All-Purpose Seasoning, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Toss well to combine.
  5. Increase the heat slightly and cook the cabbage for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender yet still crisp.
  6. Return the sausages and cooked shrimp to the skillet with the sautéed cabbage and veggies. Stir everything together gently and cook for 2-3 additional minutes until heated through.
  7. Taste your Shrimp Sausage Cabbage Skillet and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately.
