Preparation Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, grated onion, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and spices for the marinade. Whisk until fully blended. Add chicken breast or thighs ensuring each piece is coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, around 375°F to 400°F (190°C to 200°C). Clean the grates before heating to prevent sticking.
- Remove chicken from refrigerator. Soak wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes. Thread chicken onto the skewers, leaving space between each piece.
- Place skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning every few minutes until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Remove skewers from grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
