Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  2. In the same skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix in crumbled bacon.
  3. Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish and layer the beef mixture at the bottom. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese and bacon on top.
  4. Whisk together eggs and heavy cream until smooth, mix in half of the remaining cheese, then pour over beef mixture.
  5. Top with remaining cheese and crumbled bacon.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until set and golden on top.
  7. Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with optional toppings.
