  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream can substitute with more milk
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract or almond extract for a unique twist
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar reduce for a less sweet flavor
For the Finish
  • powdered sugar Powdered Sugar for dusting before serving
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest optional

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the day-old croissants into halves or quarters and layer them in the greased baking dish.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the mixed berries over the layered croissants.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard over the croissant layers, gently pressing down to absorb.
  6. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes or refrigerate overnight for maximum flavor infusion.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and the custard is set.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
