Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and gather all your ingredients and equipment.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, and sesame oil. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag and pour half of the marinade over them. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  4. Pour the remaining marinade into a small bowl and refrigerate it.
  5. Bring chicken to room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking.
  6. Arrange chicken thighs on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Simmer the reserved marinade in a saucepan for 5-7 minutes until it thickens.
  8. Broil the chicken for 2-3 minutes after brushing with thickened marinade.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
