  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese high-quality preferred
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper to taste
  • optional spices (garlic powder, Italian herbs, chili flakes) for extra flavor
Pastry
  • 1 sheet thawed puff pastry for flaky texture
  • 1 beaten egg for egg wash

Method
 

Prepare Twists
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chopped spinach and Parmesan. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface.
  4. Cut pastry into 1-inch-wide strips using a knife or pizza cutter.
  5. Place a spoonful of filling on one end of each strip, fold over, and twist into a spiral shape.
  6. Brush each twist with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until twists are golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.
