  • 1 package Gnocchi fresh or frozen, do not overcook
For the Creamy Sauce
  • 8 oz Regular Block-Style Cream Cheese avoid lower-fat options
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil for sautéing
  • 1 medium Shallot finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chili Flakes adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup White Wine to deglaze
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste boost color and taste
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Mix customize to taste
For the Fresh Elements
  • 2 cups Fresh Spinach can substitute with kale
  • 6 oz Flaked Hot Smoked Salmon the star of the dish
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Dill for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat the oil in a large deep pan over medium heat. Add chopped shallots and sauté until soft, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and red chili flakes, sauté for an additional minute.
  3. Pour in white wine, scraping the bottom of the pan. Cook until the alcohol evaporates, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook gnocchi according to package instructions, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the mixture to medium heat, add tomato paste and Italian seasoning. Pour in 200 ml of water and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in fresh spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Lower heat, add cream cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  8. Fold in cooked gnocchi and flaked smoked salmon, cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
  9. Plate the dish and garnish with fresh dill. Serve hot.
